Random grids and patterns that remind me of Cal Schenkel's artwork for Frank Zappa album covers, mixed with those great test patterns that appeared on television as late as the 1970s and 80s when TV stations actually went off the air at night. At about 2 or 3 AM the last B-movie of the night ended and they would play the national anthem to signal the end of the broadcast day. Yes, TV stations actually did not operate for a full 24 hours a day seven days a week (that would be called 24/7 now). Images below © blitzkrieg @ fotolia
